Countdown to School:Days 12 and 11

Apparently I wasn't camera-happy on Friday. I took three whole pictures of our trip to Sandy to see my aunt Wendy and her kids. I'm sure I've said this before, but I love visiting Wendy. She's only a few years older than me, she is so fun to hang out with, and my kids are so entertained while they are there. The boys played on the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath, then hung out outside to dry off and eat lunch. Aubrey stayed within arms distance of me and kept an eye on Wendy's dogs just in case they got too close to her. With Jeremiah gone I haven't done much cooking, but I was missing my kitchen, so I made everyone dinner - potato bacon pie with a salad. Aubrey refused to eat for me, but gladly took bites for Paige. I'm thinking I ought to hire Paige to be my official Aubrey-feeder.

Saturday we visited the Orem Farmer's Market. I gave each of the boys a dollar and told them they could buy anything they wanted. Little did I know there wasn't a whole lot of produce available! All we saw were zucchini, squash, and potatoes. What kid is going to spend a dollar on potatoes?! Instead, my kids had their first sno cone experience, loved it, and keep asking for more. And Roman spun the wheel at the Village Inn booth and won a free pie. At least we didn't go away empty handed. That afternoon, my mother-in-law took the boys to the dollar theater to see "Karate Kid" while I went to work with Aubrey and came home to clean. The house is really quiet without the boys, even Aubrey found herself quite bored without them home to entertain her. We ended the night with a phone call from Daddy.

What kind of farmer's market is that?! I'm glad they got a snow cone, though. Their summer is now complete. How nice to have Wendy so close, too. Her house is way fun!
