I knew Jeremiah was the "one" for me when I found out that our birthdays were so close to each other...who else can also redeem Red Robin birthday burgers at the same time as me? True love.
This year we actually celebrated Jeremiah's birthday on December 27 (his actual birthday) also we both got our free burgers. I made sure the crazies from the restaurant only sang to him, because of course I didn't want to take away from his special day. We went with the monkeys, Josette (she was in town for one more day), Jeremiah's boss Josh and his wife Dana, and his friend Mike.
Aubrey had a girl crush on Dana. I think she preferred Dana over me the whole night...that is, until I offered to share my ice cream with her. Sugar is always a guaranteed way to Aubrey's heart.
There's always that stigma about mother-in-laws, but I have to admit I'm pretty lucky. Josette is amazing, my kids love her, and we can't wait to have her back this summer, even if she disapproves of my Diet Dr Pepper drinking habit :)
Our crazy boys. Previous picture was of their ABC salad...get it? Already Been Chewed. But I didn't want to gross anyone out. You're welcome.
The monkeys with their mama. I'm so lucky.
Jeremiah got serenaded.
Modeling the Puma jacket I got him for his birthday. Isn't he so handsome?
Our friends Rachel and Chad. This was at Chili's on my birthday. Josh and Dana are below. Our friends Tai and Zach also came, but I didn't get photos of them or us. What's wrong with me? We had fun this night, too. Jeremiah got me a Cricut for scrapbooking, and Josh and Dana got me the "Dolphin Tale" DVD that my kids were SO excited about. Cute movie, makes me want to have a dolphin.
The boys don't even remember that we had birthdays this year. I think our lack of actual parties with games and presents and cake and ice cream threw them off a little. Although, to be fair to Jeremiah, I came home from work and he'd invited Tai and Zach over for cake and ice cream (and Tai got me a Cold Stone gift card...she knows me so well). It's sad to get old, but luckily we don't exactly feel our age. We're also pretty lucky to have such great friends to share our special days with! My only regret is not celebrating my birthday with my sisters, it's not too often that we don't do something together. And thanks to todays' technology, I got a whole lot of Facebook and texted "Happy Birthdays", but only one actual phone call (thanks Josette!).
