Carissa's Christmas Surprise

I wouldn't normally blog about Carissa's Christmas present, but since Jeremiah took such a vital part in it, I had to post it (mostly hoping that people like Joe and Steve see it...).

Basically Adam surprised Carissa with a KitchenAid mixer, but he didn't want to bring it all the way from Ohio (can we say heavy? awkward?) so instead he and Jeremiah - obviously after one too many caffeinated beverages - made a video to show Carissa what she got. Make sure to pause my Christmas music to the left before playing the video...

I will post an actual Christmas post when we are back in Ohio and I can actually upload my own pictures. I hope your Christmas was as entertaining as ours was!!!

Early Christmas Present and Christmas Pictures

As much as I love the Christmas pictures I took of the kids, they were definately NOT my early Christmas present...are you kidding? What Mom takes Christmas pictures right after a lunch of spaghetti just before naps?! I about pulled my hair out! And of course my fave photo was nearly useless because Roman had a spaghetti spot on his cheek. It was only thanks to Carissa's amazing friend (Aly) and her PhotoShop abilities that my picture was saved.

First things first, my early Christmas present: my nephew, Cole David Pearson:

And now to show my attempts at a Christmas picture:

Hayden was impatient for pictures, he demanded a picture before Roman was ready, so here's our solo shot.

For some reason, Roman is clapping, and even though I'm yelling, "Look at me!" they are looking at anything but me.

Again, not looking at me, and I think they are yelling. I said, "Say Cheese!" but I'm not really sure why they are yelling.

Oh great, now they are looking at me, but Hayden looks angry even though he is yelling "Cheese!"..I can't use this photo!

Roman looks good, but Hayden looks like a buck-tooth rabbit (I'm his mom, I can say that!).

Here's the finale...except there is spaghetti on the right-side of Roman's face. This photo might not show it, but printed photos were very obvious. And Hayden's face is all cheesy but he is still cute and they are actually both looking at me and smiling. I'm the best (and most frazzled) photographer EVER!

Hayden's Love For Me

So my niece, Olivia, doesn't like to see her mom sad. Whenever Carissa cries, or pretends to cry, or laughs so hard she cries, Olivia freaks out and starts to cry, too. She says, "Mom, it's okay!" and tries to make Carissa feel all better. Well, I thought that maybe Hayden might have the same reaction, or at least show some concern if I started to cry. Here's my attempt:

Hayden hits me in the face, so I start to fake cry.

Hayden: Are you sad?

Mom: Yes, you hurt me, you hit me in my eye *As I dramatically cry*

Hayden: Oh, you're okay mom *Showing some concern, this is great!*

Mom: Can you kiss it better?

Hayden: No.

Olivia at this point kisses my eye better, and Hayden freaks out.

Hayden: Don't give her kisses!!!

Mom: Why not?

Hayden: Because I don't want you to feel better. I want you to be sad.

So much for forcing Hayden's love on me. I'll have to find another way...
