My cute date :)

Last month, my niece Olivia had her dance recital, which you can read more about here. Jeremiah and I had plans to go, but he was so swamped with work that he was stressing about how he would get everything done. I asked if I could take Hayden to the recital and he could stay home, watch the other kiddos, and get some work done. It was a win-win situation. Hayden got to watch Olivia, something he was totally excited for, and Jeremiah got to get things done.

Hayden insisted I do his hair "fancy" for the recital. By fancy, he meant a mohawk. I was just happy he was letting me do his hair. He's usually the wake-up-and-go kind of kid, I tell him his hair reminds me of Harry Potter because it's always a little messy no matter what we do. But the mohawk was pretty cute. Well, my whole date was pretty cute :)

Hayden LOVED the recital. It was pretty long (I think going on 3 hours?) but he was mesmorized by all the dancers and was begging me to take dance lessons, too. I was afraid he wouldn't sit still or we'd have to leave early!

I love going on dates with my kids. Lately it's been more Hayden and less Roman, but Roman hasn't let me forget that I owe him a date! It's a great way to spend time with them and they are always on their best behavior (maybe because they're not fighting for my attention?).
