Next time we'll knock on wood!!!

Friday morning Jeremiah told me about a friend at work whose baby was really sick. I mentioned we were lucky Roman was so healthy, he'd only been to the doctor for well-baby visits. Lucky us, right? Wrong. That afternoon Roman began throwing up anything we fed him, including Pedialyte. He finally fell asleep around midnight, and Saturday seemed to be a better day, although he slept a lot and was quite grumpy when awake. At 7pm, though, he had a very horrible diaper (use your imagination). Since then, he's ate very little and had several more horrible diapers. The doctor gave us warning signs for dehydration, and after 18 hours of a dry diaper (well, besides the diarrhea), and no tears when he cried, we took him in to the doctor. He has the stomach flu, and is on a diet of 2 parts Pedialyte to 1 part rice cereal. He's a real trooper, he even laughed when the doctor checked his ears. The picture is of Roman on Friday night around 11:30pm. We were told to give him 1 ounce of Pedialyte every 20 minutes. He was laying on a towel in case he threw up, and he fell asleep waiting for his next dose of Pedialyte. (And for those of you who thought he wouldn't have curly hair...boy were you wrong!)

That is the saddest thing I've seen. It made me cry to think of him that sick. I hope he is better soon and he is in my prayers. Poor little guy!
