"Blowing"

Jeremiah's sister, Sophie, and her family came and visited us on Monday. Hayden, of course, was a bit shy in the beginning, but he warmed up to them really fast, especially Cecile. I can say that because he fell asleep on her within fifteen minutes of seeing her. Lucky duck, he never falls asleep on me. Jeremiah's brother, Steve, showed up with his wife, Melanie, and their kids Natalie and Taylor. We ate lunch at my in-laws house (everyone ate Bratwursts -yuck - and I had a sandwich) and then headed to BYU for some bowling (or, to explain the title, Hayden called it "blowing"). Of course, everyone else in Provo had the same idea and we had to wait two hours for some open lanes. In the meantime we played arcade games and Hayden and I shared fries from the snack bar. He wasn't feeling well, although I didn't realize this until we were at BYU. He had a high temperature and wanted to be held at all times. I was quite excited for him to try bowling, but unfortunately he wasn't completely into it. I think he bowled a few times out of curiousity but he was more interested in being in my arms then he was rolling a ball down the lanes. After the first game, he refused to bowl anymore, and he fell asleep on my father-in-law (see, he won't fall asleep on me), so I took him and laid him in the stroller. He slept for a good hour despite the noise of the bowling alley. Roman, however, enjoyed bowling...well, at least he enjoyed playing with the computer that you use to enter names and stats. He was passed around quite a bit and enjoyed all the attention. Hayden woke up from his nap as we were getting ready to leave...you know when Hayden "Ball-Of-Fire" Lafranca is sick when he asks to go home and go to bed. Needless to say, Hayden's first bowling experience wasn't as excited as I would have hoped, but at least he tried it and the rest of us sure had fun. Jeremiah, who apparently was "so good" at bowling in high school, needs more practice, though (he'll kill me for saying that)...Hayden got a better score than him in the first game...oh wait, Hayden got a better score than me in the first game, too. It must have been those bumpers. We had a great time with Sophie and Brooks and their kids, Cecile, Spencer, and Josie. We were sad that we had such a short time with them, but we enjoyed every minute of it.
