So after reading my sister's blogs, I'm having a hard time updating my blog because we certainly were not very busy this month and don't have a whole lot to share with our few faithful blog readers. But I'll try to exaggerate and make it appear as if we had a blast each and every day...
Hayden's school held a carnival this month. I anticipated a gazillion kids, so I purposely dressed my boys in orange since I was sure I would lose them on more than one occasion. There were a lot of games, although most were meant for older children and were a bit advanced for the boys, but they insisted on playing all of the games at least once. I was a bit bummed to find out that the kids earned a salt water taffy or piece of gum even if they lost a game....really, candy? They came home with enough candy to make Halloween a bit jealous. On the off chance that they actually won a game, the toys were little trinkets that they were super excited about but unfortunately did not last more than a few days in our crazy house. Roman won a basketball, and even though it had Bugs Bunny on it, I was at least excited he won something that wouldn't put him in a sugar coma at the end of the day. There was also a silent auction and I was bidding all my Christmas money on a QuicKutz Silhouette but unfortuately there was someone who declared a bidding war with me and apparently had more money to spend. I came home a bit defeated but was cheered up a little to find out that Jeremiah had won an IPod Shuffle in the PTA drawing.
Hayden showing off his face painting. The school employed fourth graders to do this particular game and it shows. No, that isn't a salamander...or fish with legs. It's supposed to be a lizard. Luckily Hayden isn't picky about what is painted on his face.Jeremiah stayed home with a sleeping Aubrey so Josette went with us. Dinner included too-spicy nachos (I know this because Hayden instead began eating my dinner), pizza, hot dogs, and soda (my personal fave). Josette and I became the official holders-of-small-prizes as our purses and pockets filled up with taffy, gum, plastic animals, and other treasures the boys earned.
So now that Aubrey is crawling (luckily not at top speeds yet!) she is learning to get into things she isn't necessarily supposed to. The boys aren't a big fan of her Godzilla-like crawl towards her Lego creations, and I'm not a big fan of her desire to pull out all the toys and books the moment we finish cleaning them all up. She's also discovered the drawer in the kitchen that holds my dish towels and sandwich bags, the latter being her new fave.
And while these last few pictures don't really specify any activities that we did this month, they are pretty cute. This is how Aubrey's hair is after a nap in which she got a little sweaty.

Okay, I laughed while reading your entire post. So funny! I can totally picture Aubrey's Godzilla-like crawl towards the legos. Cole still gets a kick out of knocking down the other boys creations - he thinks it's funny, Rix and Bryce don't see the humor. And her hair is sooooo stinking cute!! I wish your future plans included seeing us :( but maybe if I find a good deal on plane tickets....hmmmm....we'll see!
P.S. Aren't school carnivals the worst? Idlewild is the only carnival worth going to!
Seriously, I could eat Aubrey up. She is just too cute! Love her wild hair. I'm just jealous she has hair! So excited that you won so many things this month- an iPod, a free dinner (you have to tell me how that is!) and I can't wait to see what you are doing with your hair. Is it at a salon?
Sounds like a blast to me. And, am I lame that I love the school carnival? I'm bummed cause we're missing ours this year. I love that Hayden's face painting was on his forehead. :) See you Wednesday!
Nice to hear and see what you guys have been up to. You have the most beautiful kids. I love to see their smiling faces.
