Sorry these pictures are so late. Because we lost our camera, we regressed to the 1980s and purchased a disposable camera -at a gas station, no less, and I just barely got it developed...man, I haven't "developed" film in years. The cool part about a disposable (okay, the only cool thing...) is that you never know what your pictures look like until you get them developed, it's a big surprise!
Luckily we got a new digital camera, so maybe I'll update a little more often. No promises though....ok, I promise.
Hayden had his first day of kindergarten on August 27. He's in the afternoon class, so he goes from 12:30-3:30pm. His teacher is Mrs. Headman. We live 3 blocks from the school so a bus doesn't come down this way, Hayden was a little bummed not to take a bus, and I was a little bummed that I'd have to actually take him and pick him up every day, but we'll live. He loves his class. He sits at a table with a friend of his from Sunday School, and his "best friend" is a boy named Jaiden Potter, except he's only Hayden's best friend because his last name is Potter, "just like Harry Potter!!!" He goes to PE, the library, and brings home worksheets to finish. I think right now he's a little bored because the class is learning about letters, shapes, and colors, and he's already learned those, but he's a bit of a social butterfly so he enjoys the interaction with other kids his age. It's crazy how fast he's growing up!

Hayden with Mrs. Headman. Isn't the quality great on disposable cameras?!
Roman doesn't seem to mind that Hayden is at school. He misses him, but because Hayden went to preschool for two years, he's used to him being gone. Roman keeps asking when he can go to preschool, but I'm not sure he'll be able to go this year. For starters, my stubborn little boy refuses to be fully potty trained. He'll use the bathroom 2-3 times a day, but isn't consistent and has accidents in his underwear within 10 minutes of putting them on. He's also still extremely shy in new places and as excited as he is to go to preschool, I'm not sure he'd actually go if the opportunity presented itself. He still goes with me to Sunday School and Relief Society because he absolutely refuses to go to nursery. He holds onto me like a monkey and screams if I try to pry him off.
Aubrey is almost 11 months...and not crawling. This doesn't necessarily bother me, it's kind of nice that I can set her down with some toys, leave the room, and not worry about where she might end up while I'm gone. My house is not ready for her to crawl around in, but I still think she'll be so cute when she starts moving. She is such a happy baby, she's learned to give hugs (which means she lays her head on my shoulder), she loves to eat (obviously), and loves to sit next to the toy basket, where she plays most of the time. She has a knack for getting into things (like the boys' puzzles or Jeremiah's books) and has learned to pull barrettes out of her hair and put them in her mouth, so she only wears barrettes when she is supervised. She started waking up again in the middle of the night because she was getting her top teeth in, and we were so exhausted that we decided to let her cry it out...seriously, one of the hardest parts about being a mom! I slept in the boys room on Hayden's bed (which was as hard as a rock) and Jeremiah slept on the couch (for those that don't know, Aubrey shares a bedroom with us) so we let her cry it out for four days straight, and now she's mostly sleeping through the night, she has been waking up around 6:30am, though, which I hope is just a phase because I don't think I'm ever going to be a morning person.

We finally spent the money my parents sent us for the boys' birthdays. Hayden got a new bike with training wheels and a helmet (which he thinks makes him "look weird") and Roman got a Fisher-Price car garage...oh, and Hayden's hand-me-down bike now that he has outgrown it. They've begged me every day for a week now to go outside and ride their bikes. Luckily, we live at the end of a row of townhouses and there is rarely a need to stop riding bikes for passing cars. I usually open the back of the Trailblazer and sit in the back with Aubrey while the boys ride around.

yay for pictures! sounds like y'all are doing really well out there. glad to hear it! <3
Good To hear you guys are alive!! Glad Hayden is liking school!
Shut. Up. You updated your blog! Hooray! Isn't it weird that you have a kindergartner! He's definitely a social butterfly! And poor Roman and nursery...Bryce can't wait for sacrament to be over so he can go play. He doesn't realize what he's missing out on! Sunday school can be soooo boring! And Aubrey is, of course, the cutest thing I've ever seen! I wish I could see you all!
Haha... I love that Hayden chose his friends based on how cool their name is! Jack won't potty train either, maybe he and Roman should start a club or something. Seriously, I just want to eat Aubrey! She is just so cute! I'm way jealous that your girl has hair. Madelynn is still bald :(
I love that you posted even without your camera. So sad that you lost yours!!! It's probably a toss up between losing the camera and the pictures on it! But, your kids are adorable--as always. I love Hayden's best friend because of Harry Potter. And I can't imagine Aubrey crying. Whenever I see her, she's just cute and happy! So sad!
