Millions of Peaches

We spent last Sunday at my mother-in-law's house. The boys brought their bikes over to ride after dinner, and Josette urged us to take some peaches from her tree. Why is it that we've been married seven years and I'm just now finding out my mother-in-law has a peach tree?! I knew about the apple tree, but peaches?!?! I filled two grocery bags full of peaches with dreams of peach jam (yeah, right). I ended up sharing some with Kory and Ana Lee and making a peach & blackberry cobbler (which honestly didn't turn out as I planned, but Jeremiah insists it was good...he's so nice to lie to me) and Paula Deen's peach cobbler, and it was SO GOOOOD! The peaches were also ripe enough to feed to Aubrey, who is loving table food these days.

Hayden riding his bike in Nana's driveway.

My cute niece, Natalie, picking peaches for us. I used Aubrey as an excuse not to pick my own. Don't judge, you know you do it too. But Natalie is awesome!

Melanie and Steve also picked a ton of peaches. Seriously, 4 grocery bags later and you could barely see a dent in the tree, there were still so many left! I may have to find another peach recipe and make a trip over to Josette's. Any suggestions?

Aubrey and I watching the peach-picking.

Nana protecting Aubrey from the bees. There were a ton out there.

Hayden, Roman, and Taylor decided that Nana's apple tree was the better choice and Roman brought Aubrey a few apples. She couldn't get past the skin, but had a blast playing with them anyway.

I love this picture. Steve took it with our new camera and I love how detailed it is. Josette had Jeremiah and Steve take out a few sunflowers and there were a lot of bees that weren't too happy with them.
I didn't want to do a whole post just on these photos, but I was checking out our camera and used my cute little girl as a muse. I loved these pictures and had to share. Aubrey is doing awesome. After a few nights of letting her cry it out she is back to sleeping through the night. She is - for all intents and purposes - crawling, even though she doesn't go too far and is still trying to figure it out, and she's finally holding her own bottle. My life just got easier...and harder, since now I have to child-proof my home. And I have to plan a birthday party for her. But enjoy her cuteness...

I was so sad to read your blog because Aubrey is growing up SO FAST and I MISS YOU GUYS!!! Anyway, you should totally try peach freezer jam. It's super easy. Just google a recipe and follow it. I think you'll be happy you did. I also like peach pie, but it's up to you. What kind of camera did you get, by the way?

Great. Now I have that song stuck in my head! I think Aubrey is soo adorable, so thanks for sharing all the pictures. And, I posted a peach recipe on our recipe blog. It calls for Oreos too--and trust me, it's awesome. It just calls for a raw egg and I don't know what to do about that. See ya later!

Carissa and I just made peach freezer jam and it is WAY. TOO. EASY. Seriously, you should do it! It took like 30 minutes to do an entire batch! Anyway, I love the pictures of your kids. And I'm so way jealous of your MIL's peach tree! I may plan a trip to Utah for Sept next year for free peaches!!! And I love the pic of Aubrey with the apples. I was waiting for the caption "Nice apples Aubrey" or "Look at them apples". Maybe that's just me.

That is what we are missing in my yard...fruit tree's! Peaches are the best. Hubba hubba. It's cool to see Josette, Natalie, and Melanie too.
