We decided to continue our tradition of holding a Superbowl party, even though while in Ohio our party included just Jeremiah and me and a lot of food. So this year we were excited to have an actual party, with guests and food and lots of kids running around like wild animals. None of us really cared who won, but Jeremiah chose to go for the Saints so I, of course, cheered for the Colts. Not that I watched a whole lot of the game. There was a kitchen to tend to. And children.
We had Kory and Ana Lee over (they left early), Jeremiah's friend Justin, our neighbors Sarah and Nick and their little boy Seth, and our friends Matt, Rachelle, and their three little boys. It was the perfect size for our house, especially since the boys always seem to work up a gazillion times more energy than normal when we have guests over.
My neighbor, Sarah, brought over football-shaped sugar cookies, they were So. Freaking. Good. She substituted French vanilla coffee creamer instead of milk in her frosting. I never thought of that before. The possibilities are endless! And Rachelle, if you are reading this, please please please send me your meatball recipe. I wasn't even hungry and I was still eating them! Besides that, we had a meat and cheese platter, bbq burger sliders, chocolate banana mini muffins, and plenty of soda. And Aubrey camped out with the potato chips.
I didn't get to watch much of the game and I didn't get to see many commercials, I supposed that is what YouTube is for?
Hayden refused to pose for a picture for me like a normal boy, instead he did these strange ninja-type moves, but I managed to catch him laughing at himself.
This is why I never buy potato chips...
Poor Matt got beat up by his own kids AND mine, all at the same time. Instead of trying to help, I chose to take pictures :)
So the boys saw "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" a little while ago, if you haven't seen it, the people in the movie give each other kisses by puffing up their mouths, although I don't really know why. Sometimes Roman insists on giving me "Cloudy Meatball" kisses, but he tends to laugh before he can actually give me a kiss.
The next few pictures is courtest of Roman, who took several pictures of the TV screen, the stairs, and the coffee table. But he managed to take a few worth posting...
Seriously, did this girl ever leave the chips?! I'm surprised she even shared with Seth, the little neighbor boy that I think she secretly has a crush on. He's a cute little boy, but we have serious walker-envy. He is a little over two months older than Aubrey, and already running and faux-jumping. And Aubrey just eats chips. Maybe he'll rub off on her??? One can hope.

Haha! I love that every picture of Aubrey is her in front of the chips! She's my kind of girl!!!
Love the party! We had a party too, but like you, I spent all my time refereeing the kids and in the kitchen. Lame!!
I'm seriously still laughing at Aubrey. She really didn't leave those chips, did she? Funny girl. And we saw Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs but I didn't watch it closely enough to know what the kisses are for. I'll ask Olivia tomorrow, k?
Yeah, we stayed in the kitchen and played with the kids for the Superbowl (and ate yummy food!) so I didn't get to watch it either. Stupid boys and their stupid football. I'm glad it's over for a while!
this cracks me up! I don't know if that picture of me was really "worth posting" :)
I'm glad you liked the cookies...the recipe for the cookies is so yummy, if you want it I'll run it over! Otherwise, the secret it out on the frosting!
