Today we are supposed to get like a foot of snow, and we're under what they call a "Level 2" snow advisory, meaning we are not to drive in the snow unless absolutely necessary (so, is the need for shredded cheese for dinner tonight "necessary"?!). So...since I can't go to the grocery store or anywhere else for that matter, I am updating my blog.
This past weekend, we went to Cleveland to visit Carissa and her family. I was feeling a bit homesick and needed to get out of the house and with family, so the obvious choice was a 2 hour drive east (as opposed to a plane ticket elsewhere...as much as I would have liked to do that too). The drive was long, mostly because I forgot the portable DVD player, so the kids were extra cranky and we visited two rest stops just to get their wiggles out. The best part of the weekend? I got a girl's day out...kind of. Adam watched the kids while they napped (and where Roman woke up, he's such a poor napper lately!) and Carissa and I went to TGIFridays for their $12.99 3-course meals. I had an amazing pulled pork sandwich, it made me quite happy to eat it. We then dropped by Old Navy where I was really good and didn't buy anything. I lovelovelove my kids, but I honestly need a break every once in a while, and with Jeremiah married to his law school right now, I'm sort of out of luck when it comes to getting breaks from the kids. It was fun to watch my kids interact with Carissa's kids, and it was also quite frustrating because they are still not quite at the age where they can play really well together. So although it wasn't a relaxing, catch-up-on-sleep, enjoy every moment kind of vacation, it was definatly worth it. I rarely get adult interaction during the day, mostly because Hayden is only 3 and really does not do a whole lot of adult-like talking. It was nice to have another adult around me for the weekend and to spend some time with people I love.
Roman with a handful of cars, he hordes cars and just carries them around everywhere. The thing is to notice his shoes...a Disney shoe and a flower church shoe. Apparently he and Jack got into Olivia's closet.
Another of my dear sweet little boys...boys I say! Hayden is not only lovingly playing with a Barbie Island Princess doll but he is also wearing pink Minnie socks. What is it about Carissa's house that brings out the estrogen in my boys?!

That is funny that Hayden likes pink and Barbies...I guess you have a bigger influence than you realize. The reason we have stuff like that in our house is all because of Jordyn. And, the reason Austin's turning away is because his dad tells him he can't do something cause it's for girls! Can't wait to see you soon!
Hey I totally feel your need for a break from the kids. Sometimes when the kids are in bed and Bryan is actually home I will go to Target and just walk around. I don't really have anyone to talk to adult talk with - maybe that is why I talk Bryan's face off when he comes home. Anyway, I am so jealous you got to go to Carissa's house and have some girl time!!!
Glad you had fun, even though it wasn't much of a vacation (although I'm not sure how you thought it would be a vacation without a husband and with 4 kids in the house). It was nice to have adult interaction and to go to lunch without the kiddos! Thanks for coming!
I think I have a binky from your last visit in my car still, so should I get rid of it? Those pictures just make me so excited to see you all again. Good for you for girl time! We'll have to let Steve watch the kids and go out when you're here. Love your blog!
What a fun and semi-relaxing weekend! As for the boys and the girl toys/shoes we were in Target tonight and Kaiden saw Little Mermaid underwear and wanted some. I just had to laugh and let Joe handle it.
Your boys are growing up so fast! I am sorry that it is so crazy snowy there. I saw on the news today that you are in the middle of another crappy storm! When will Spring get here????
Hi you guys. I found your blog off of Steve and Melanie's. It has been fun to read what you guys have been up to. I was delighted to read that you are expecting another little baby. Wow, you guys will most certainly have your hands full! At least you make incredibly beautiful children so even if they drive you crazy at times, they are easy on the eyes! I love all of the pictures that you have posted of the boys.
We have a blog as well so I will have to get your email and invite you to it. I am one of those paranoid people who have it blocked. My email address is mamacricketbean@yahoo.com if you want to drop me an email.
Hope you are feeling ok Kelli. Pregnancy can be so difficult.
Love you guys-
Chrissie
