Roman is (kind of) walking!

I think I've figured out how to post videos on my blog!!! I'm so SMART! Oh but if I'd known I might be eventually posting this online, I would not have been so annoying on the camera! If you must, you can mute your computer. I sure did!

We were just talking about how cool it would be to have a Harry Potter Adventure Park. Jeremiah and I are Harry Potter geeks. We watch the movies over and over again. Oh, and we are intellectual- we read the books over and over again too. So click on this link and be prepared, it's so cool!!!

Our IKEA Adventure

Call us crazy, but we ventured into IKEA on Saturday. I thought it would be busy, I didn't know it would be BUSY! We had the kids in a cart and it was like a fish trying to swim upstream just to get through the crowds. Not only was I overhwhelmed with half of Utah's population surrounding me, but there was so much to look at in the store, it was like sensory overload. We ended up abandoning our cart, grabbing our children, and making a mad dash for the exit.

Move forward two days. We wised up. We dropped the kids off at my aunt Wendy's (again, thanks Wendy!) and went to the store 15 minutes before they opened. There was still a crowd, but it was much more manageable, especially without kids. We even ate lunch in their cafeteria, going all out with Swedish sparkling ciders, Swedish meatballs, and...well, fries but that's not so Swedish right? We got our new entertainment center, a computer desk so Jage can feel like a true law student, and a bunch of things we don't need but again we do need...like vases for $1 or plasticware for the kids for just as cheap...how can you pass that up?! Needless to say, I love IKEA. I love it like I love Target (see, now some of you are understanding!).

By the way, we also saw Pirates 3 on Saturday. I loved that too. And wait til after the credits, there's a little scene. No one told us this. We'll have to see it when it comes out on DVD. Call me a good friend, but apparently you should see this scene. It gives closure.

Oh, and Hayden has mixed up "Holy cow!" and "Oh my gosh" and now says "Oh my cow!" The things our toddlers come up with.

Law School Update

Well, it's official. Jeremiah will be attending the Univeristy of Toledo School of Law. Classes start August 20. We will probably move around July 12. We are very excited for the move, although I admit I'll be more excited once we actually find a place to live. We are 2 hours from Carissa and her family, 4 hours from Chicago, 8 hours from Nauvoo, and about 5 hours from Niagara Falls. We are excited to be in a new part of the country and look forward to exploring it (if we ever get the time to!).

My Mother's Day

Since I was in Cleveland last Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day this Sunday. Jage brought me breakfast in bed (menu: egg and ham scramble, toast with jam, strawberries, and orange juice!) after letting me sleep in. We went to my in-laws for a bbq and enjoyed the high 80s-degree weather. Hayden played with his cousins in the grass and Roman was happy to demand attention from everyone else. It was a great Mother's Day as I sat there lazily and did not do any chores yesterday, unless you consider bathing the kids a chore?

My Favorite Addiction (well, one of them)

If buying little girl's clothes is an addiction...well, then consider me an addict. Hello - we are proud parents of two boys! Yet, here I stand with a collection of about a dozen dresses ranging from newborn to 2T. My most trusted supplier is my aunt Wendy (she just gave me another one today - thanks!), and sadly Jeremiah is a huge supporter of my habit- for example:

Celeste and I were at Children's Place and she stated, "The only reason I'm looking in the little girl's section is that Bryan isn't here to stop me." (She's a closet case addict). I laughed and said, "That's weird...I was just thinking I'm glad Jeremiah isn't here, he'd probably be urging me to actually buy something!"

When we do decide to have another child (pick yourself up off the floor, Mom, it isn't any time soon!) we are going to follow a technique my best friend Jen tried, it's like cheating...well, not cheating, more like urging nature to give you a specific gender. We'll see how it works, I'll let you know in a few years =)

By the way, congrats Jen on your pregnancy! Fingers crossed for a boy!

Our New Tradition?

I was going to title my post "Sister's Vacation" but Carissa titled her's that...thanks a lot. You ruin everything! =)






Celeste and I visited Carissa and her family in Cleveland. Because we went sans children, we were more than happy to latch on to Olivia and Jack, who did not mind having three moms. Right now they're probably finding just one mom highly insufficient. I came home calling Roman "Jack" and I think he's a little offended. And I came home expecting Hayden to be well-mannered at the dinner table just like Olivia, but of course, he's Hayden so that's a work in progress. Instead he mixed his couscous with his ketchup and stirred that into his milk.








One of the many highlights of our trip was a trip to Kirtland. The temple was gorgeous, the tour was totally non-spiritual, but luckily the LDS tour of Kirtland made up for that. I even got to sit in the room where the School of the Prophets was held. Hello! Do you know what happened in that room? If Jack wasn't making grunting noises I probably would have cried!!!





We also had the chance to drive to Niagara Falls in Canada. We went aboard the Maid of the Mist boat, which takes you very near the falls (I'd guess around 50-75 yards from it?). They gave us plastic ponchos to wear, and I'm very glad they did. It felt like we were in a huge downpour! It was so much fun but we were so cold afterwards. And I'm glad I went because Jeremiah was very jealous. I had to do something on the trip to make him jealous!!!


So, between shopping and cooking and driving around and having a blast I was able to survive without Jeremiah, Hayden, and Roman. Maybe we should make this a tradition???
